Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley (BGCGCV) Dedicates the Bay Laurel Boys & Girls Club in Calabasas to Karen & Ed Jefferson

CALABASAS — The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley (BGCGCV) recently dedicated and renamed the Bay Laurel Boys & Girls Club in Calabasas to Karen & Ed Jefferson.  Approximately 45 dignitaries and officials from the BGCGCV gathered for the Dedication of the Club located on the campus of Bay Laurel Elementary School.

The Dedication included a ceremony followed by tours.  The BGCGCV named the Club after Karen & Ed Jefferson for their significant donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs.  “We are so fortunate to have individuals and organizations who recognize the value of giving back to help foster the development of local youth,” stated Dr. Crystal N?one, President/CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley. “We applaud Karen & Ed Jefferson as well as others who have stepped forward to make a difference,” she added.

About Ed & Karen Jefferson: Ed Jefferson is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville Medical School.  During his internship at UCLA Hospitals, he met Karen.  Ed practiced radiology for nearly 30 years at Tarzana-Encino Regional Medical.  After retiring from medicine, Ed and Karen moved to Westlake Village and transitioned into farming and business.  They currently manage an organically certified avocado farm in Somis, a commercial apiary, Bloom Honey, in addition to other small businesses.  Ed has served as Commodore on the Westlake Yacht Club and as President of Westlake Management Association.
