EDC SBDC update for June 11 — EDC SBDC Client Success Spotlight Emily Barany

EDC SBDC CLIENT SUCCESS SPOTLIGHT
EMILY BARANY
Emily Barany, founder and owner of Visionality, did not waste any time in setting up a nonprofit to offer assistance to impacted residents in the 805 area during the Thomas Fire. Founding 805 Help as a way to reach disaster survivors with much needed food, clothing and additional items, Emily saw an opportunity to create a resource in the Ventura County area that had not existed before. Since the Thomas Fire, 805HELP has grown into an online, grassroots platform that empowers local community members to support survivors of recent disasters in the form of direct donations, volunteerism and pro-bono services. 805HELP was recently honored as “NonProfit of the Year” in State Senate District 19 B State Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson. Congratulations Emily on a job well done! To learn more visit 805HELP.
