Carnegie Art Museum update for May 8 — Art Workshops for Kids

ART WORKSHOPS FOR KIDS

Picture

Building Blocks of Art

Saturdays – May  11, 18

10:30 am-12noon              ages 7-11
In these workshops, kids familiarize themselves with the seven elements of art (line, shape, form, color, value, texture and space). Kids spend time in the galleries exploring current exhibitions and then they create an art work about what they learned.

May 11- Still Life Submerged – Reimagine the traditional still-life by depicting a still object underwater. Understand how to draw from photographic references and from observation. Create an uncanny final piece.
May 18- Animal Mix-up –Explore animal illustration in a playful, surrealist manner. Add the legs from one animal, the head of another, and keep adding until a new creature emerges.

$10 per single class. Click here for reservations prepayment required,  space is limited 805-385-8171 or education@carnegieam.org
