OXNARD — Oxnard is not only a great place to visit, but it’s also a great place to work according to the Pacific Coast Business Times which recently honored the Oxnard Convention & Visitors Bureau (Visit Oxnard) with the “One of the Central Coast Best Places to Work” award.  Visit Oxnard was recognized in the small business category of 25 employees or less.

Led by President & CEO, Julie Mino, Visit Oxnard has five team members on staff and is located in the office buildings at 2775 North Ventura Road, near The Collection at Riverpark.

“Oxnard is such a beautiful destination and has been the “best kept secret on the Central Coast”, but this is starting to change,” stated Julie Mino.  “Everyone on our team holds a very special and needed skill set, complementing each other and all dedicated to the mission of promoting Oxnard,” she continued.  “I believe I have the best team and we get to do the coolest job – marketing and supporting a town we love and care for so much,” she added.

Director of Marketing & Communications, Brittney Hendricks concurs.  “Our team is dynamic and is incredibly efficient with each member bringing ideas to the table to strategize on best practices and ways to approach projects,” stated Hendricks.  “There is very little red tape and absolutely no discouragement with quite a bit of opportunity for professional development and growth,” she continued.  “As a coastal community, we have incredible natural assets that are located within close proximity to major destinations such as LA and Santa Barbara, but without the expense and the crowds.  Plus, we’re multicultural and multiethnic, making for a great mix of local businesses,” she added.

Having been employed by Visit Oxnard for the last nine years, Alyce Bosacki, Vice President, Sales & Community Development, is tasked with the job to promote Oxnard as a major tourist destination.  “It is, and has always been, my passion to promote all that Oxnard has to offer,” stated Bosacki.  “I love every opportunity to share with the world what an amazing place Oxnard is to live, work and play in,” she continued.  “From our popular places to go, to our unique attractions, activities and idyllic weather, Oxnard has so many treasures, and adventures to experience,” she added.

The other two staff members include Michelle Flippo, Office Manager, who has worked for the Bureau for about five years, and Whitney Orvis who serves as Marketing Associate handling social media.  Visit Oxnard is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of 15 members representing Oxnard’s attractions, hotels and key city personnel.

The Pacific Coast Business Times, a weekly business journal of record, serves Santa Barbara, Ventura and San Luis Obispo counties.  The publication produces eight award events each year including the Central Coast Best Places to Work award.  Julie Mino will attend the recognition event on behalf of Visit Oxnard on May 23.
