Axell Accepts Award
Board president Randy Axell accepted our “Community Beautification Award” at the Santa Paula Chamber of Commerce’s 2019 Awards Dinner. The award honored the Museum’s new Cole Creativity Center.
Art and The Arc
Our education department is busy with tours this month including last week’s visit from the Santa Paula chapter of The Arc of Ventura County. They enjoyed a tour and hands-on art lesson.
Spring Break Plans
We finalized the details of our spring break kids’ art classes that will be offered through our partnership with the City of Santa Paula’s Parks and Recreation Department. More info is coming soon!
Docent Field Trip
Some of our docents and staff took a field trip to the Pasadena Museum of Historyto view that Museum’s current exhibit, Something Revealed: California Women Artists Emerge, 1860-1960. They loved it!

Monotypes Using Gelatin Plates (Ages 16+)
Saturday March 23, 2019, from 10:00am to 12:00pm, and Sunday, March 24, 2019, from 12:00pm to 3:00pm
Back by popular demand! Used by seasoned artists yet easy enough for the beginner to do at home, Monotypes Using Gelatin Plates is a fast, fun, color-filled experience in printmaking. Students will learn to make their own gelatin plate, use a variety of tools to create expressive and spontaneous imagery, and employ water-based inks to generate multiple prints to take home. All skill levels are welcome, and all supplies are provided. Pre-registration is required. The cost of this two-part class is $85.00 per person.

Free Family Day on Free First Sunday
Sunday, April 7, 2019, from 12:00pm to 3:00pm
Join us for Free Family Day at the Santa Paula Art Museum on the first Sunday of every month from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. In addition to enjoying our current exhibitions, you’ll experience hands-on art activities for the whole family, with local artists sharing new ideas and projects each month. Admission is free for everyone and materials are provided. And did you know that our Free Family Days coincide with Free First Sunday at all of Santa Paula’s museums? Make a day of it and visit the Santa Paula Art Museum, the Agriculture Museum, the Aviation Museum of Santa Paula, and the California Oil Museum for free! Hours will vary by location.

Ukrainian Egg Decorating (Ages 16+)
Friday, April 12, 2019, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, and Saturday, April 13, 2019, from 10:00am to 1:00pm
Celebrate spring with the rich colors, intricate patterns, and traditional techniques of Ukrainian Egg Decorating! Learn the basics of tools and techniques on day one, and immerse yourself in practice on day two. Join us and turn your eggs into masterpieces! All skill levels are welcome, and all supplies are provided. Pre-registration is required. The cost of this two-part class is $80.00 per person.

Pop-Up Art Shop
The gift shop is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm, and Sundays from 12:00pm to 4:00pm
The Santa Paula Art Museum’s Pop-Up Art Shop is an extension of our gift shop and features art for sale by some of our favorite local artists, both historic and contemporary. Artworks in the gift shop can be purchased and taken home immediately. Use the button below to see our current inventory of paintings by artists George Lockwood, Gina Niebergall, and Anette Power. Members of the museum receive 10% off every purchase they make in the gift shop.
