Feb. 23 — League of Women Voters ‘Love the League’ Event

VENTURA — The League of Women Voters of Ventura County (LWVVC), a nonpartisan political organization, invites all public-spirited citizens and community members to join us in a Celebration of Empowered Women and the 60 Year anniversary of the LWV in Ventura County at their upcoming “Love the League” brunch, Saturday, February 23, 2019, 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, at the Los Robles Greens Golf Club, 299 S. Moorpark Road Thousand Oaks, CA 91361.

Tickets are $55 and may be purchased on Eventbrite http://tinyurl.com/yacdz8qa or by sending a check payable to LWVVC and mailed to P.O. Box 6786, Ventura, CA 93006, by February 15th.

Our League chapter sponsors educational and candidate forums; registers adults, high school, and college students to vote; offers civics education to various companies and organizations, awards college scholarships, promotes Civil Discourse training at CSUCI, and much more.

On a broader scale, the U.S. and California Leagues do extensive position studies on issues like:  Transparency in Election Finance, National Campaign Finance Law Reform, Electoral College Reform, Equity for all Voters, Equal Rights Amendment Promotion, Environment Protection and Clean Energy Legislation, and Women’s Rights and Opportunities.

This has been such an exciting year for League of Women Voters of Ventura County and for women all across the county!  Help the League commemorate these events and continue Empowering Voters and Defending Democracy.
