VENTURA — The Museum of Ventura County is presenting its latest exhibit, “Natural State,” through Aug. 12. The exhibit features the work of the Museum’s first artist-in-residence Ryan Carr. Using large scale paintings and drawings, the focus of Carr’s work is the invasive species of plants along the Ventura River, the Channel Islands and other areas of Ventura County. Carr will also be incorporating letter press printing techniques he learned while interning with Norman Clayton, who is considered one of the finest living printers on the West Coast. Unique wallpaper created by the artist, following the transition of Charles Burchfield, will be installed, as well as a floral installation that speaks to Carr’s work and adds depth to the exhibit.
The museum is at 100 Main St., Ventura. For more information visit venturamuseum.org or call 805-653-0323.
