Local sexual assault survivors tell their stories
SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY — RISE is proud to announce the launch of its latest campaign featuring the stories of sexual assault survivors from San Luis Obispo County and the positive impact RISE has had in their lives. The campaign highlights the real-life experiences of survivors in the community and the services RISE provides to support them, with the goal of raising awareness as well as $40,000 by December 31, 2017.
“We are so grateful to our three survivors – Ronnie, Patrice, and Zyanya – for their willingness to share their stories and speak directly to the need for our services,” says Executive Director Jennifer Adams. “It is the boundless support of our community that lifts up survivors and ensures their access to much needed RISE services.”
In addition to the featured survivor stories, community members are also invited to share their own stories and create personalized fundraising webpages. All fundraising supports RISE programs for survivors of sexual assault/abuse and intimate partner violence, including counseling, 24-hour support line, legal services, emergency shelter, accompaniment, advocacy, and prevention education.
