New Website for the Arts in Santa Paula

SANTA PAULA — There is a new web site for Museums, Murals and the Arts in Santa Paula.   The name of the web site is sure to attract visitors and locals and inform them about all the many cultural activities that abound in Santa Paula. When you want to Go To Santa Paula just click on

www.gosantapaula.com. The new web site will tell you what you want and need to know about happenings at the museums, theater and galleries and lead you to viewing all the murals and monuments within walking distance in the historic downtown.

Over 20 years ago an organization was formed to create murals in the historic core of downtown Santa Paula.  It was called the Arts and Business Council of Santa Paula. The idea was to use the arts to stimulate tourism and increase business for Santa Paula.  The committee has created 9 murals so far.

Over the years money was donated and spent on the murals project.  Recently Joyce and Ernie Carlson retired from leadership and the organization was turned over to a new board consisting of Doug Nelson, president,  John Nichols, vice president, Gail Pidduck, secretary, Howard Bolton and Judy Triem. The committee needs to prudently save a certain portion of our funds for any maintenance on the existing murals and new murals but that leaves funds to invest in collective marketing for cultural entities in Santa Paula.  The committee feels that all of the cultural entities in Santa Paula not only enrich our lives but can also increase business for the local economy.

With that in mind the committee decided to create a new web site and marketing campaign called Go Santa Paula.  We obtained www.gosantapaula.com.   The concept is to use Go Santa Paula as a portal to link up the web sites and information about the museums, murals, live theater, arts and monuments in Santa Paula.  Each entity continues to maintain their own web sites and marketing efforts but with an added benefit of an additional marketing program for tourists and locals to find out what’s happening in the arts, all in one place.

Visitors to GoSantaPaula will browse public art pages that show a series of murals and monuments that tells the story of our remarkable city and its people. Browsing the museums pages will lead to three historic places that are home to outstanding organizations exploring art, history and science. The theater page provides all the information on comedy, drama, concerts and more, all brought to you in the downtown’s historic theater. Browsing galleries leads to meeting local artists and viewing a wide variety of art in galleries and private studios around town.

Looking for “Things To Do”? The collective calendar of cultural activities is full of things to do related to the arts. Mobile users can select a specific date to see events for that day.

GoSantaPaula.com currently showcases the activities of the Santa Paula Art Museum, California Oil Museum, MVC Agriculture Museum, Santa Paula Theater Center, John Nichols Gallery, the 9 Murals, Monuments and links to more.
