April 28 — Community Invited to SBCC Scheinfeld Center New Venture Challenge Business Plan and Pitch Competition

SANTA BARBARA — The Santa Barbara City College Scheinfeld Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation invites the community to join them at the 7th Annual New Venture Challenge business plan and pitch competition from 2-7 p.m. on Friday, April 28 at the Fe Bland Forum. SBCC students and college and high school students from Santa Barbara County will be competing.

The New Venture Challenge is divided into two separate tiers: one for high school students and one for college students. From the business plan submissions, ten finalists have been chosen from each tier and invited to pitch their concept. Collectively, winners will be recognized with $15,000 in cash and/or scholarship awards.

“The New Venture Challenge gives our next generation of innovators an opportunity to showcase their business concepts to the community,” said Julie Samson, Director of the Scheinfeld Center. “The competition promotes youth entrepreneurship and career development, and provides an opportunity for local students to interact, network, and further educate themselves on the process of creating a business plan and pitching their concept.”

Come support the region’s aspiring entrepreneurs and kindle your own entrepreneurial spirit! The event is free, but RSVP is required.

Questions about the event can be directed to Scheinfeld Center Director Julie Samson by emailing  jasamson@sbcc.edu.
