OXNARD — The Channel Islands Maritime Museum will be exhibiting art work from students of the Oxnard Union High School District from April 3 – April 30, 2017. On Thursday, April 6 from 5-7pm, a reception and awards ceremony will be held for the community to attend free of charge. Light refreshments will be provided.
For the past 26 years, Oxnard Union High School District and the Channel Islands Maritime Museum have collaborated on this exhibition displaying student work, fostering creative appreciation and cultural development in Ventura County for students and young artists.
The museum welcomes the public and community to attend.
The Channel Islands Maritime Museum is located in Oxnard’s Channel Islands Harbor at 3900 Bluefin Circle. CIMM is open Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am – 4 pm; Sundays from 12 pm – 4 pm; Tuesdays and Wednesdays are open for reserved group tours and private member events. Explore galleries full of rare and beautiful maritime paintings dating back to the 1600’s, more than sixty world-class models of historic ships, rotating thematic fine arts exhibitions, and interactive exhibits that encourage visitors to expand their horizons about everything maritime.
