Channel Islands Maritime Museum Speakers Series to present ‘Linda Cuy Thornton – Surf Adventures’ on July 21

Channel Islands Maritime MuseumOXNARD — The Channel Islands Maritime Museum Speakers Series will present “Linda Cuy Thornton – Surf Adventures” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 21 at the Channel Islands Maritime Museum, 3900 Bluefin Circle Oxnard.

A resident of Ventura, Linda Cuy Thornton will give a talk about her 22 years in Ireland and tidbits from her book “The Surf Sting”. This is a high adventure tale of a tug of war, love, scams, larceny, high living, around the world travels, balanced with a surfer’s lifestyle of van camping in search of the perfect wave. Linda has traveled the world three times (at least) with Mika Dora and the Pirate Captain in the 1970’s and 80’s.

The Speaker’s Series is held every third Thursday of the month at the museum.

Refreshments are served at 6:30. The lecture begins at 7:00

Entry is free for members, Adults $5.00 and Seniors $4.00
