OJAI — The Ojai Studio Artists are giving over $7,000 for art scholarships to qualifying high school and college students who are residents of Ventura County and who are pursuing a career in the field of art. Applicants are eligible to receive one scholarship award in a given year, with a maximum of four during their years of study.
Professional artists who are members of the Ojai Studio Artists will jury the entries. Selected work of recipients will be on display at Ojai City Hall during the month of June. Presentation of awards will take place at a Reception at City Hall on Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 4 to 6 PM. Selected artwork should be delivered to: Ojai City Hall on Saturday, May 28 at 12:00 noon. Ojai City Hall is located at 401 South Ventura Street, Ojai, CA, 93023 (805/646-5581).
Since its inception, the Ojai Studio Artists (OSA), a 501(c)(3) California non-profit organization, has raised over $200,000 for educational outreach. As part of the outreach program OSA provides scholarships to aspiring art students at the high school and college levels. Scholarships are financed by donations and funds raised during the Annual OSA Studio Tour, this year on October 8-10, 2016. - Ojai Studio Tour: October 8, 9 & 10, Saturday, Sunday &-Monday: 60+ artists, 10 am to 5 pm
