Ventura County Democratic Central Committee vote to support Carla Castilla in the race to replace retiring 3rd District Supervisor Kathy Long

Castilla also earns endorsements from Channel Islands College Democrats, the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) Local 46

Carla CastillaVENTURA COUNTY — The Ventura County Democratic Central Committee voted overwhelmingly to support Carla Castilla in the race to replace retiring 3rd District Supervisor Kathy Long. Castilla won the official endorsement of the Ventura County Democratic Party with 95 percent of the county delegates voting to support her during a vote on Feb. 23

“Carla Castilla has a life-long proven record of fighting for working families,” said Shawn Terris, Chair of the Ventura County Democratic Central Committee. “We believe Carla has exactly what is needed to represent the citizens and residents in Ventura County. Carla has outstanding leadership skills combined with command of the issues facing the 3rd District and dedication to resolving those issues. Her years of local, state, and federal service and developing partnerships at all levels to get things done has been invaluable.”

The Ventura County Democratic Party represents all registered Democrats in Ventura County, and serves to elect Democratic candidates to office and to advance Democratic causes in Ventura County.

“It is a tremendous honor to have this early support from Ventura County Democrats,” said Castilla. “I have enormous respect for the delegates, grassroots activists, Club members and leaders who make up the heart and soul of Ventura County’s Democratic Party. On Tuesday, March 1, Castilla’s campaign announced she received the endorsement of the Channel Islands College Democrats.

She previously received the endorsement of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) Local 46
