FOOD Share will host a holiday open house from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Dec. 21 at 4156 Southbank Road, Oxnard.
The open house is in support of the organization’s Tackle Hunger food campaign and a way to thank the community for their ongoing generous support, organizers reported.
“The donations of non-perishable food items and cash funding from local businesses, residents and community members this holiday season has been a tremendous help,” Bonnie Weigel, CEO of FOOD Share, stated in a media release. “Unfortunately, the ranks of those needing assistance in Ventura Countyare growing and, as a result, we must continue to reach out for additional support to feed more and more hungry friends.”
The event will also offer the public the opportunity to meet actress Jane Leeves, best known for her role as Daphne in the hit sitcom, “Frasier,” and currently co-starring in “Hot In Cleveland,” and Ron Lewis, her partner in Tellurian Naturals. Tellurian will make an additional donation to the food bank of $250,000 worth of products from its Ventura County-based natural skin and baby care line, FOOD Share reported.
The public is invited to come to the open house and donate non-perishable food items and enjoy music, cookies, hot chocolate and a visit from Santa, Weigel reported. Donations are also being collected at more than 70 local Farmers Insurance agent locations throughout Ventura County.
