OXNARD — The Dr. Rodolfo F. Acuña Art Gallery & Cultural Center at Café on A will present “La Cosecha / The Harvest” photo exhibit and film screening from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 21 at 438 S. A St., Oxnard.
Every year more than 400,000 American children pick the food we all eat. In “La Cosecha / The Harvest,” Zulema, Perla and Victor labor as migrant farm workers, sacrificing their own childhoods to help their families survive. The film profiles three children as they, along with their families, journey from field to field, state to state in scorching heat, winter snows and through humidity as they follow the harvets.
From the producers of the Academy-Award® nominated film, “War / Dance,” Executive Producer Eva Longoria and director U. Robert Romano, this award-winning documentary provides an intimate glimpse into the lives of these children who struggle to dream while working 12 – 14 hours a day, 7 days a week to feed America.
The event will also include the world premier of the solo exhibit of Antonio Arredondo, with the event including art, food and music with a special performance by Grupo Los Pilares.
