OXNARD — The Mixteco / Indígena Community Organizing Project, the Latino Performing Arts Institute at Oxnard College and the Oxnard College Arts Collaborative will present “Pasatono Orquesta” at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15 at the Oxnard College Performing Arts Building, 4000 S. Rose Ave., Oxnard.
The free event is open to all ages.
Pasotono is made up of nine musicians, who described themselves as “Twenty first century Oaxacans,” moving comfortably between the rural and the urban; the ancient and the modern.
In terms of music, they are equally comfortable with oral and academic music, with local traditional music and music from other cultures of the world.
