VENTURA COUNTY — The Ventura County Adult Education Consortium invites Ventura County adult education providers and partners to a series of town hall meetings on Aug. 5 (Oxnard College), 6 (Ventura Adult and Continuing Education), 7 (Moorpark College), 11 Ventura College Santa Paula and 12 Ventura Community Foundation.
“AB 86 was passed in order to allow individual regions to meet to plan the best solution to delivering adult education services of the local area in a coordinated, convenient and affordable manner,” Sabrina Canola stated in a media release. “To this end, members of the community colleges and adult schools in the county have established a regional consortium to guide the planning process. We are now seeking your input as to how best achieve the best possible strategic plan for the county of Ventura.”
The community, especially those who work with adults 18 years of age and older, are encouraged to participate to let the consortium know the strengths and growth needs (gaps) of adult education, she said.
“Please join us to add your perspective and ideas for building a strong delivery system for adult education in Ventura County,” she said. “We will explore what we have done to date and will seek your response to specific questions involving the needs of your local area. We look forward to your thoughts and recommendations.”
