VENTURA COUNTY — This Saturday, June 21 (the longest day of the year) United Ways around the world invite their communities to improve the conditions in which they live on Day of Action. Locally, United Way of Ventura County will kick off its fifth annual Stuff the Bus campaign on June 21.
United Way is asking the community to donate NEW school supplies! Drop off these items at collection sites throughout Ventura County between Saturday, June 21 and Wednesday, July 23, 2014. Look for the big, yellow, pop-up school bus bins at the collection sites to drop off your donated school supplies. See below for a list of the donated school supplies needed that will go to benefit children from low income families and those living in shelters and/or foster care.

In addition to the donation of school supplies, individuals can also make monetary donations Stuff the Buswhich will be used to purchase backpacks and additional school supplies. Here’s how:

  • You can make a minimum $10 donation or more online by clicking here and selecting Stuff the Busunder the pull-down menu.

  • You can use your cellphone to text-to-give by making a $10 donation simply texting the keywordUWVC to 27722. Standard message and data rates may apply. Must be 18+ years of age or have parental permission to participate. For full terms: mGive.org/T.privacypolicy.
