805 CoWorking Collective Announces New Member and International Coworking Day Celebration

SANTA BARBARA — The 805 CoWorking Collective welcomes Flow Community Workspace in Santa Maria as its newest member, further expanding the network of coworking spaces available to professionals on the Central Coast.

“By joining the 805 CoWorking Collective, Flow is expanding its ability to connect members with a broader network of like-minded professionals, enriching the collaborative spirit that drives success,” said Jordan Vasquez, General Manager of Flow. “With this new affiliation, Flow continues to uphold its mission of being a dynamic hub for innovation and community building.”

Flow is also excited to unveil its expansion plans. “We are growing into a new location that will feature over 15 private offices, two state-of-the-art conference rooms, and a generous amount of flexible membership space,” according to Vasquez. “In addition, we are enhancing our original location to include more private offices and a second conference room, ensuring that our members continue to enjoy top-tier facilities and an inspiring work environment.”

The message in Brad Neuberg’s 2005 article that introduced the coworking concept to the world continues to resonate; ‘If we work at a traditional 9 to 5 company job, we get community and structure, but lose freedom and the ability to control our own lives. If we work for ourselves at home, we gain independence but suffer loneliness and bad habits from not being surrounded by a work community.’

In celebration of International Coworking Day, August 9, 2024, all Collective locations will offer a free day pass for new guests on August 9, 2024. The annual event aims to introduce more people to the benefits of coworking. As the global workforce has undergone a seismic shift over the past few years, remote work, digital nomadism, and the gig economy have transformed how we work and where we work. In this landscape, coworking spaces have emerged as crucial hubs that offer more than just a desk and Wi-Fi. They provide a sense of belonging, foster collaboration, and drive innovation.

Comprised of five coworking spaces, the 805 CoWorking Collective spans over 100 miles from Westlake to Santa Maria. Member spaces are Workzones in Santa Barbara, Coastal Coworking in Ventura, Collab District in Camarillo, Hub101 in Westlake Village, and now Flow Community Workspace in Santa Maria.
