Zaragoza’s campaign holds successful fundraiser in Oxnard

Fifth District Supervisor John Zaragoza

Many of Ventura County’s Latino Leaders hosted a fundraising event on Dec. 8 honoring County Supervisor John Zaragoza, according to a media release.

Host Committee Chairs Alfredo Placencia and Art Hernandez welcomed guests to Ruby’s restaurant in Oxnard. The packed room listened to Zaragoza tell what he has accomplished in his first term.

Pointing out how important it is to create partnerships in the community, Supervisor Zaragoza used the example of the very successful bi-lingual Senior Summit he sponsored with Hank Lacayo and the California Congress of Seniors along with Oxnard College, and the recent efforts to save McGrath State Beach Park by the County, City of Oxnard and the State of California.

Former Mayor Manny Lopez agreed that “John has a way of bringing people together.” Host committee members Carmen Ramirez, Ramon Flores, and David Rodriguez agreed pointing out the great turnout from the community.
