CENTRAL COAST — The World Affairs Councils of America — California Central Coast is pleased to announce that the Chairman Emeritus and Citizen Diplomat, Michael Phillip, has been invited to participate in a Leadership Mission to Israel during the first week of June, 2016.  This honor was recently announced by the World Affairs Councils of America from Washington, DC.

Mr. Phillip is a resident of Camarillo, California and is a Senior Vice President with RaymondJames in Santa Barbara, California. He has been on previous Leadership Missions to China, Taiwan, South Korea, the UAE, Azerbaijan, Germany, the EU, Iraq, and the UK.

A Leadership Mission is a working visit made by a WACA National Leadership Delegation to a foreign country. Missions allow participants to obtain firsthand knowledge of the host country, which helps them to design and operate programs, events, and activities for their Councils that make a real difference in fostering grassroots understanding and engagement in international affairs.

Itineraries and meetings are organized by the host. Arrangements will be made for the delegation to interact with top ministry and government officials, members of the Knesset from major political parties, as well as business, NGO, media, and religious leaders, in order to enhance delegates’ understanding of Israel.

This Leadership Mission to Israel will focus on a variety of contemporary issues, including Middle East regional affairs, Israeli politics and diplomacy, counter-terrorism, immigration and refugees, innovation and entrepreneurship (alternative energy, IT, health care), and religious diversity.

The mission of the Word Affairs Council of American, California Central Coast is to inspire and engage citizens in international affairs and global issues.
