Volunteers needed for United Way of Ventura County’s ‘Day of Caring’ on Sept. 28

VENTURA COUNTY — The United Way of Ventura County is seeking volunteers to participate in the 24th annual “Day of Caring” on Saturday, Sept. 28. Most projects are from 9 a.m. to noon, with afternoon projects as well. The event will bring together teams and individual volunteers to help nonprofit organizations in the community with a variety of tasks.

Many projects are available to families and youth groups for children of all ages to make a difference and are available in cities throughout Ventura County. United Way is seeking 800-plus vounteers to help community organizations across Ventura County. Some of this year’s volunteer projects include: painting and freshening up community centers; tending community food gardens and sorting donated food items at food banks and pantries.
