The Mixteco/Indigena Community Organizing Project will present its first monthly community meeting of 2012 starting at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28 at Harrington Elementary School, 2501 Gisler St., Oxnard.
“If you’re available and would like to help out we will need lots of volunteers,” Donna Foster, operations manager for MICOP, stated in a media release. “We will be distributing jackets that were donated by the Ventura Rotary Club through their Coats for Kids program. We will be continuing our literacy program and doing crafts with the children. The coat distribution and literacy program will start early, during registration, so please come at 3 p.m. if possible.”
