The Mixteco/Indigena Community Organizing Project is seeking volunteers for its annual Fiesta Navidena, which will be held this year on Saturday, Dec. 17 at the Boys & Girls Club, 1900 W. 5th St., Oxnard, and at Rio Real Elementary School, 1140 Kenny St., Oxnard.
Volunteers are needed from noon to 3 p.m. to set up the event, from 3 to 6:30 p.m. during the fiesta and from 6:30 to 8 p.m. to clean up the event.

Simple, inexpensive crafts for up to 500 children aged 2 to 10 are also needed.
“Please let me know if you have any ideas,” said Donna Foster, MICOP’s operations manager. “We will need help precutting shapes in construction paper or paper plates, hole punching and other prep activities that could be done at home. Please let me know if you are interested in volunteering on the day of the Fiesta or helping with crafts beforehand.”
