Ventura Family YMCA Volunteers Finished 2016 by Giving Back During Holidays; Will Continue Efforts in 2017

VENTURA — By the close of 2016, volunteers and community supporters with the Ventura Family YMCA supported local people in need through a variety of charitable drives. About 600 people attended Breakfast with Santa in December, which collected hundreds of toy donations for local low-income families through the ACTION Foundation of Ventura.

The YMCA Adventure Guides, a program designed to strengthen the relationship between a parent and a child, held a food drive and created 10 baskets for families in need and donated the rest of the food to the Food Pantry. The YMCA also held a coat drive in partnership with the Rotary Club of Ventura, which brought in more than 150 coats for children and families in need.
