Ventura County Community Development Corporation Receives $50,000 Bank of America Grant Award

Recognizing Community Need With Largest Corporate Gift Received

OXNARD — The Ventura County Community Development Corporation (VCCDC) received a $50,000 grant from Bank of America to help continue the organization’s mission to increase homeownership and economic stability to low- and moderate-income families and individuals in Ventura, Santa Barbara, Kern, and Los Angeles Counties. This is the largest support received to-date by Bank of America Charitable Foundation, which underscores VCCDC service and outreach to an underserved market.

“Bank of America’s grant helps ensure our programs and services are available throughout our diverse communities,” said Bertha Garcia, VCCDC’s Executive Director. “Our financial education and counseling are vital to helping families achieve empowerment through homeownership and home preservation, enhancing our region’s economic success. VCCDC’s mission of serving low-to-moderate income families is made stronger by Bank of America’s commitment, and in doing so, helps us leverage additional resources for our clients”, she added.

“Homeownership remains the most important wealth-builder for generations of hard working families. VCCDC provides not just valuable lending products, but just as importantly a strong foundation of homebuyer education and credit counseling that makes homeownership financially attainable and sustainable. We’re very pleased to provide our largest amount of grant 

support yet to this vital organization,” said Midge Campbell Thomas, Bank of America president for Ventura and Santa Barbara.
