VENTURA — Ventura College is offering several new programs this fall, including a Diesel Mechanic Program, Workplace Competencies Program and Social Media Marketing.
Registration opens to all students July 11 for the fall 2016 semester at Ventura College. Current students, in good academic standing, may enroll June 27. Most classes begin August 17. Students can register online or view the schedule of classes at venturacollege.edu.

We offer more than 1,300 classes and over 80 programs to help make college accessible and affordable, whether students want a career in two years or a low-cost path to a four-year degree,” said Kim Hoffmans, Ed.D., vice president of academic affairs. “When you attend Ventura College you’re getting a high-quality education that open doors to future success.”
The Diesel Mechanics Program, funded through a $900,000 partnership with Gibbs International Trucking, will provide a hands-on, work-based training experience. The classroom curriculum includes courses in the diagnosis and repair of the electronics, engines and various equipment in medium/heavy duty trucks. Enrollment is limited to 24 students.
The Social Media Marketing Program gives students the skills and strategies they need to create and deliver an integrated social media plan into the conventional marketing mix. Students may earn a Certificate of Achievement or an associate degree.
The Technology and Workplace Competencies Program is designed to provide students with technology and workplace skills to enhance their employability and provide value to employers. These non-credit courses have no enrollment fees. There is an estimated $26 charge for student activity and health fees.
Also newly offered at Ventura College is an associate degree or certificate in architecture; associate degree for transfer to a CSU in philosophy; associate degree for transfer to a CSU in geology; and basic law enforcement academy courses.
