Teatro de las Américas is presenting the workshop “Introduction to light design for the stage” from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 14 at 816 Wagon Wheel Road, Oxnard.
There is no charge for the workshop.
The workshop will be conducted by Donny Jackson. As a lighting and scenic designer, Jackson has spent the past ten years working in the theatre, the organization reported in a media release. His design work has been seen in several locations throughout Los Angeles and Orange County including the Cypress Civic Theatre, the Color and Light Theatre in Westwood, and the Nakano Theatre in Torrance. Recent design work includes The Cherry Orchard with Director Mel Shapiro, and Forgotten World with Director Shirley Jo Finney. He holds an associates degree in Theatre from Fullerton College, as well as a bachelors degree in Theatre Design from California State University, Long Beach. Currently he is finishing work on his masters degree in Lighting Design from UCLA. After completing his education he plans to relocate to New York to pursue design work, and hopes to someday work as an University Professor.

Teatro presenta introducción al Alumbrado Del Escenario
El Teatro de las Américas anuncia un taller llamado “Introducción al Alumbrado del Escenario,” sábado 14 de mayo, 11 a.m. a 5 p.m., 816 Wagon Wheel Road, Oxnard.
El taller es gratis.
El taller lo dará Donny Jackson. Tiene diez años trabajando en el teatro Jackson de diseñador escénico y de alumbramiento. Su trabajo de diseño se ha visto en varios lugares en los condados deLos Ángeles de Orange. Incluyen el Cypress Civic Theatre, the Color and Light Theatre in Westwood, and the Nakano Theatre in Torrance. Trabajo reciente incluye The Cherry Orchard con el Director Mel Shapiro, y Forgotten World con la Directora Shirley Jo Finney.
