SANTA PAULA — The Agriculture Museum will feature a hands-on interactive exhibit about Ventura County birds during an opening reception from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 15. Admission is free for members, $5 for nonmembers. The Agriculture Museum is located at 926 Railroad Ave in Santa Paula.
TWEET THIS, an interactive pop-up exhibit for children of all ages, will feature fun bird facts, bird sounds, eggs and nests of all shapes, sizes and colors and a bird and egg quiz. Museum-goers will have fun with a selfie opportunity that lets them compare themselves to the world’s tallest and smallest birds and enjoy life-sized paintings by Ventura artist, MB Hanrahan.
The museum features learning stations focused on plant growth, farm-to-table labor dynamics, seasonal produce, beneficial insects, farm practices past and present, water issues and more. Visitors can also explore themed garden beds, sit on an Oliver tractor, dress up like a farmer, play an electronic match-the-crop game and many more hands-on interactive displays.
In addition to the museum exhibits, education tours are available at both the Agriculture Museum in Santa Paula and the Museum of Ventura County.
