SBCC School of Extended Learning, Career Skills Institute
Prepare to enter or re-enter the workforce or stay in touch with Outlook for email and work task and calendar management to connect with colleagues, customers, family and friends. SBCC Career Skills Institute’s Basic Outlook course provides a basic hands-on introduction to Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft’s premier email and information management program. Students learn how to stay up-to-date at home or work by using Outlook to set up an account and connect with colleagues, customers, family and friends. Topics include how to use basic aspects of Outlook to do email, handle people (contact) lists, maintain a calendar and track tasks.
You may elect to take this course independent of a Career Skills Institute digital badge or apply it to the Basic Office Software Skills Certificate. Participants who earn this certificate will learn to navigate computer screens, format text, create simple presentations and spreadsheets and organize a variety of work tasks.
To obtain the Basic Office Software Skills Certificate, participants must complete a total of three required courses and one elective course:
Required:
(1) Introduction to MS Word
(2) Basic Powerpoint
(3) Introduction to MS Excel
Electives:
(1) Word Processing Basics for Beginners
(2) Basic Microsoft Outlook
(3) Basic Spreadsheets for Beginners
Basic Microsoft Outlook 1 takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting March 30 through April 8. Classes will be held 4:00 PM – 6:15 PM.
