The Black and Brown Youth Arts and Cultural Alliance will hold a Request for Proposal workshop for Arts in Public Places (AIPP) projects in Oxnard at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 14 at the Acuna Gallery @ Café on A, 438 So. A St., Oxnard.
The workshop will assist all arts and cultural organizations as well as artists prepare the RFP, assuring that the grassroots organizations have the full benefit of professional and successful proposal writers to assist in preparing the strongest RFP’s possible, Deborah DeVries, co-executive director of the Acuna Gallery and Community Center, reported in a media release.
The AIPP city program has a balance of $337,650. In the City Council meeting of the March 27, a total of $200,000 was authorized to be put out for bid through a formalized Request for Proposals process, Armando Vazquez, co-executive director of the Acuna Gallery and Community Center, stated in the release. Categories include:
- Legacy Arts Organization in Oxnard: Ten or more years of arts and cultural community work in Oxnard — $100,000.
- Emerging Art Organizations in Oxnard: Less than ten years of arts and cultural community work in Oxnard — $50,000.
- Individual artist or Individual projects in Oxnard: Category to individual artists and individual projects in Oxnard — $50,000.
