We’re thankful for YOU!

MCASB was honored to support Indigenous & Filipinx artist, photographer, and poet, Solange Aguilar as an artist for this year’s Pianos on State! Aguilar incorporated several aspects of their work, including their #IndigenousPostcard series, into one beautiful piece for this piano. We are so grateful to be a part of this project and watch this design come to life.

For the safety and well-being of the Santa Barbara community, Pianos on State went virtual for 2020! Artists and musicians were invited to play the pianos, and live recordings of performances on this piano can be found here on the Lobero Theater’s website. Community members are also invited to submit videos of themselves playing piano-based music from their homes to the Pianos on State Facebook page and throughout social media! Join us today, November 20, at 3:30pm PST as we go live on our Instagramfor a conversation with Artist, Solange Aguilar. We will be streaming live from the Lobero Theater where Aguilar’s piano is located.

Give Back
We’re partnering with F oodbank Santa Barbara County to collect non-perishable food items to distribute to our community this month. Join us by dropping off your non-perishable donations at MCASB’s back offices Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, before November 23rd. We will have a box available for safe and contact-less drop off, and we’ll deliver your donations to Foodbank Santa Barbara County for you! Kick off the season of giving by taking care of our neighbors and giving thanks to our Santa Barbara community.
