CAMARILLO — The fire agencies of Ventura County will honor firefighters who lost their lives in service to our community during the annual Fallen Firefighters Memorial remembrance Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 10 a.m.
“We are fortunate that no new names are being added to the list of the fallen this year,” Ventura County Fire Chief Dustin Gardner said. “And we continue to remember all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice while working to keep others safe.”
The outdoor ceremony at the Ventura County Government Center recognizes all firefighters who died in the line of duty, whether from traumatic injury or job-related illness. The memorial represents all seven fire agencies serving the county, including Ventura County, Oxnard, Ventura City, Federal Fire, Fillmore City, CAL FIRE and the U.S. Forest Service.

Unveiled in 2004, the Ventura County Fallen Firefighter Memorial features a 7-foot granite statue and memorial wall on which the names of fallen firefighters are engraved. There are now 51 names engraved on the Fallen Firefighters Memorial at the Government Center in Ventura.

Los Bomberos Caídos Serán Recordados en el Memorial del Condado de Ventura
CAMARILLO – – Las agencias de bomberos del condado de Ventura honrarán a los bomberos que perdieron la vida al servicio de nuestra comunidad durante el recuerdo anual del Memorial de los Bomberos Caídos el miércoles 16 de noviembre a las 10 a.m.
“Somos afortunados de que no se han agregado nuevos nombres a la lista de los caídos este año”, dijo el jefe de bomberos del condado de Ventura, Dustin Gardner. “Y seguimos recordando a todos aquellos que dieron el máximo sacrificio mientras trabajaban para mantener a otros a salvo”.
La ceremonia al aire libre en el Centro de Gobierno del Condado de Ventura reconoce a todos los bomberos que murieron en la línea del deber, ya sea por lesiones traumáticas o enfermedades relacionadas con el trabajo. El monumento representa a las siete agencias de bomberos que sirven al condado, incluyendo el Condado de Ventura, Oxnard, ciudad de Ventura, Federal Fire, ciudad de Fillmore, CAL FIRE, y el Servicio Forestal de los Estados Unidos.
