Joe Sohm (“America’s Photo-Historian”) has been published more than 500,000 times in publications that include the National Geographic, Time, Newsweek, New York and L.A. Times, Washington Post and featured on CNN, ABC, PBS, and the History Channel. He served as President Clinton’s photographer for the D.N.C and his work is featured in Ronald Reagan’s book The Great Communicator. Join host Ivor Davis for a riveting discussion with Sohm about his work as one of the nation’s greatest political photographers of our time.

De Colores Multicultural Folk Arts, Inc., is a non-profit organization that continues the legacy of Xavier “Big X” Montes and is committed to sharing music, art and culture appreciation within the community of Santa Paula. The Museum of Ventura County partners with The RAD Foundation and the artist Julie Dahl-Nicolle to showcase 100 floral mixed media canvas paintings. This exhibit dives into the loss brought by COVID-19: the loss of loved ones and the loss of what could have been. During the opening of the exhibit, guests can participate in hanging their clouties (piece of cloth tied to a tree branch)– an homage to the Irish Rag Tree tradition. Click here to learn more.

Dr. David Leaf’s instant classic and groundbreaking study was both the first full-length book on The Beach Boys and the first to recognize Brian Wilson as one of the most significant and influential artists of the 20th century. Learn of Wilson’s turbulent family strife, internal conflicts, and how he engineered his fresh remarkable sound in this talk and Q&A with Dr. David Leaf and journalist Ivor Davis.

Taxpayers who are 70 ½ or over with a traditional Individual Retirement Account (IRA) can experience significant tax benefits when they donate money directly from their IRA account to the Museum of Ventura County. Qualified taxpayers can donate up to $100,000 each year from their IRA and pay no tax on the withdrawal.

This charitable distribution will cover the annual required minimum distribution that comes into effect at the age of 70 ½.
