Toast to Tenacity: A Virtual Celebration

During the 1890s hundreds of thousands of women across the country joined women’s clubs that focused on many different interests, including the right to vote.
Join us online on National Women’s Equality Day,
Wednesday, August 26, 2020 from 4—6 PM
as we commemorate the centennial of the 19th Amendment, and honor the sacrifices of the courageous Suffragists, with a family-friendly free virtual event that will feature performances, and presentations about voting, advocacy, and equality. The Museum of Ventura County will be providing a virtual tour of its newly curated exhibit “Amendment 19: Votes for Women.”

“Arte Forastero” Sculpture Exhibit
Opening August 15, 2020 and continuing through November 30, 2020 the Museum of Ventura County (MVC) and the Ventura Botanical Gardens (VBG) host 14 regional artists in their first collaboration. Sculptures and installation works have been installed in the Botanical Gardens nursery and lower trails and in the Museum’s outdoor Plaza along Main Street in Downtown Ventura.

During the run of this exhibit MVC members may visit the Gardens free of charge and when the Museums reopen, VBG members will receive free admission to both the Ventura Museum and the Santa Paula Agriculture Museum. Members of both organizations are encouraged to support this exciting first collaboration.

In the latest Virtual Learning Module, explore the different elements that make up various types of artwork and then use your skills to look at some local Ventura County artists’ unique works!
Spots are filling up quickly for this one of kind Zoom event with Ivor Davis, where he’ll be sharing his personal stories of life on the road with The Beatles during their first American tour in 1964 and discussing “A Hard Day’s Night.”
