Museum of Ventura County — Outdoor Exhibit: Arte Forastero + New Ivor Davis Zoom Talk!

OUTDOOR EXHIBIT
Arte Forastero Sculpture Exhibit
Wrona Gall at Ventura Botanical Gardens
Open now through November 30, 2020, the Museum of Ventura County and the Ventura Botanical Gardens are thrilled to host 14 regional artists in their first collaboration, Arte Forastero. Sculptures and installation works have been installed in the Botanical Gardens nursery and lower trails and in the Museum’s outdoor Plaza along Main Street in Downtown Ventura.
VIRTUAL EXHIBIT
AMENDMENT 19: Votes For Women
The 19th Amendment, which became part of the US constitution in August of 1920, ostensibly gave women the right to vote across America. The battle for that right had been decades long and for some women, it would be decades longer still until they enjoyed full suffrage. This exhibit examines the story of the fight for women’s right to vote, illuminating Ventura County’s own chapter of the struggle.

Kennedy, who was shot in the early morning hours of June 5, 1968 in the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, California. MVC RECOMMENDS
Smithsonian:
Because of Her Story
In America’s most defining moments—times that shaped constitutional rights, yielded scientific breakthroughs, created the symbols of our nation—a diversity of women’s stories has not been widely told. To create a more equitable and just American society, the Smithsonian American Women’s History Initiative (AWHI) will create, educate, disseminate, and amplify the historical record of the accomplishments of American women. The Smithsonian wants the role of women in American history to be well-known, accurate, acknowledged, and empowering.
