Your Museum’s value statements are Inclusivity, Boldness, Empathy, and Integrity. Here we highlight a champion of the community who embodies one of these aspirational qualities. |
Bill Baker:
Boldness
Bill Baker’s made what he called the “largest loaf of bread ever made” circa 1920, here in Ventura County. He parked it on a trailer pulled by a Fordson tractor in front of “American Bakery”. The bread was then donated to the American Legion. In his time, he also baked cakes for Presidents Coolidge and Roosevelt. Click here to see a photograph of the loaf of bread from the Museum of Ventura County’s Research Library.
