Boroughs Children’s Garden Celebration
Saturday, June 19 @ 11AM—2PM
Join us in the Boroughs Children’s Garden at the Museum of Ventura County on Saturday, June 19th from 11am—2pm to celebrate local artist MB Hanrahan’s new Chumash Village mural. Admission is free!
There will be hands-on activities for the entire family, and much more, including storytelling, a live drum performance, rock stacking demonstrations and hands-on participation, archaeological dig simulation, and a presentation of Chumash Traditions by Chumash Elder Julie Tumamait-Stensile. Plus, visitors will have the opportunity to meet artist MB Hanrahan!
The refreshed Boroughs Children’s Garden is full of hands-on activities, including the Garden of Sound, where numerous instruments from guitars to a piano are at the hands of visitors, an Archaeological dig site with sifting and digging tools, and plenty of other games for all to enjoy.

The Museum of Ventura County is honored to co-present a concert of the 562nd Air Force Band on Sunday, June 20, 2021, from 2—4PM in the Museum’s Plaza at 100 E. Main St. in Ventura, CA. Admission to the performance is free. Admission to the museum is free throughout 2021.
Come out to the museum to support our country’s service members and explore the refreshed Boroughs Children’s Garden with the family.

Jorge Corralejo, a longtime local activist and civic leader, displays his collection of photography and personal memorabilia from his time with United Farm Workers, working alongside Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta from the Boston A & P strikes to the streets of Oxnard.
