Members of the United Way of Ventura County’s Latino Action Team and other community volunteers, gathered on Oct. 1 at the Sunshine Manor Mobile Home Park in Oxnard as part of the 22nd annual “Day of Caring” activities held throughout Ventura County. Volunteers worked on a number of projects including preparing the area for painting, landscaping and installing smoke detectors.
The event brought together teams and individual volunteers to help nonprofit organizations in the community with a variety of tasks.
Some of the other projects held countywide included:
> Sorting food at food banks and pantries.
> Painting and freshening up living spaces.
> Helping young children with literacy & craft projects.
