Premiere Party: California Art League’s “The California Scene”

Join us at the Santa Paula Art Museum for the premiere of “The California Scene,” a spectacular summer exhibition showcasing 59 quintessential California scenes in a variety of media by 44 artists from the long-established California Art League (CAL). The show is CAL’s 2023 Gold Medal Exhibition and multiple awards will be announced during the premiere party. Meet the artists and delight in a diversity of California scenes: from beaches to barns, from wildflowers to waves, to vineyards, the desert, the High Sierra, and more. Many of the artworks will be available for purchase.

Fused Glass Pendants

(Ages 16+)

Saturday, July 8, 2023, from 11 AM to 1 PM

There are only a few spots left in this weekend’s fused glass workshop led by teaching artist Paula Jennet! Learn how to safely cut and build glass compositions with layers of colors, textures, and shapes to create your very own pendant. All skill levels are welcome and all supplies are provided.

Beautiful Objects in Oil: Floral Arrangements (Ages 16+)

The four-part course starts Saturday, July 15, 2023,

from 11 AM to 2 PM

$145 per person for 4 classes

Join teaching artist Aaron MacDonald inside SPAM’s Cole Creativity Center to explore the secrets behind the psychology of oil painting with an emphasis on floral arrangments and their interactions with light and shadow. Learn foundational skills in oil painting as well as how finding harmony in tone, shape, and composition can influence your personal and emotional connection to beautiful art. All skill levels are welcome and all supplies are provided.

Summer Art Camp

Summer camp season is in full swing inside SPAM’s Cole Creativity Center and we’re having an absolute blast! Campers have been getting their hands dirty creating clay creatures, mixed media sculpture, and action paintings à la Jackson Pollock.
