Topic: “Mixing up the Medicine: Art + Science of Ketamine-Assisted-Therapy and Getting the Most from the Process”

Description: Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAP) offers a unique experience insofar as it combines the psycho-biological effects of medicine on our mind-body system within a psychotherapy process. But is psychotherapy an art or a science? This time-tested question has not yet been answered as research studies largely conclude that while any number of therapy approaches and techniques are effective, positive outcome resides at its heart, within the therapeutic alliance.

If so, how do we know what to look for when seeking a professional facilitator? Moreover, once we enter therapy, how can we trust the process with its promise of positive outcomes?

When: Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 5pm to 9pm (Speaker at 6:30pm)

Where: LoDo Studios, 216 E. Gutierrez Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101
(Please only park across the street on the Office Max side of the lot.)

RECAP: “The Time to Act: Reflections on the Inauguration Integration Expert Panel”

The panel featured powerhouse speakers who illuminated the complexities of these policies and their implications for our communities and the global stage:

Ismail Ali, J.D. (MAPS): Advocating for equitable access to psychedelics ?

Maritza Perez Medina (Drug Policy Alliance): Fighting for systemic reform ?

Jason Ortiz (Last Prisoner Project): Championing justice for those criminalized by the War on Drugs ??

• Moderated by Annie Oak Harrison (Lucid News): A fierce voice for truth and accountability ?

Annie set the tone early, painting a stark picture of the administration’s authoritarian moves and oligarchic policies, even in its first week. Her words weren’t just a call to awareness—they were a call to action.

BIO: As the son of Gallagher the Watermelon Smashing Comedian, my childhood was far different than most. I had bungee cords and a swing hanging from my living room ceiling, marbles at the bottom of our jacuzzi, and all the toys and material comforts I could ever dream of. I treasured my childhood, and appreciated the unique experiences my celebrity father was able to give to me. But as I grew older, I noticed that there was a hole in my soul that nothing money could buy was able to fill. [read more]
