Let’s Unblur the Lines between Evidence and Anecdotes.
Chronic headache, which includes migraine, tension and cluster headaches, is a debilitating condition that affects a significant portion of the global population. Available treatment options do not always provide complete relief and may be associated with side effects. There is growing interest in exploring alternative therapeutic approaches, such as the use of psychedelics, to alleviate the burden of chronic headache.
Psychedelics are demonstrating promising clinical trial results in mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Anecdotal and early observational data in treating chronic headache with some psychedelics is signaling potential effectiveness, and more research is needed.
This study aims to understand how people are using psychedelics to treat chronic headache. By investigating real world use of psychedelics in this context and their effects on headache frequency, severity, and associated symptoms, we seek to contribute to the existing body of knowledge.
