Hundreds of participants attended a march in Oxnard on Jan. 17 honoring the 25th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
The march began at Oxnard’s historic Plaza Park and concluded at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center.
Among the participants was Everardo Rivera accompanied by his 5-year-old son, Emiliano, both were carrying a picture of late Cesar Chavez, UFW leader; Rep. Lois Capps, D-Santa Barbara, Ventura County Supervisors John Zaragoza and Steve Bennett, Oxnard City Councilmember Carmen Ramirez, Oxnard Interim Police Chief Jason Benites, Oxnard Police Dept. Deputy Chief Scott Whitney and Ventura County Sheriff Geoff Dean.
Among the groups performing were the Channel Islands High School marching band.
