Andrea Vargas-Mendoza will be one of the guest artists attending the closing reception for the De Colores Art Exhibit from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30 at the Santa Paula Art Museum, 117 No. 10th St., Santa Paula.
The exhibit highlights the narrative paintings and cultural story telling of 40 Latino visual artists including Louie Moreno, Veronica Valadez and Jose Zuniga. Musical entertainment at the reception will be provided by Angels on Harps and by De Colores founder, artist and harpist Xavier ‘Big X’ Montes.
There will also be spoken word performances by Joseph Casteñeda and Vanessa Teran and short film screening by director Karen Farfán, who is doing a documentary project about Montes and his Conjunto Callejon youth musical group.
