Das Williams: Weather Advisory for Friday Evening

Greetings! ,

Our County Office of Emergency Management has issued a weather advisory for FRIDAY night through SATURDAY morning. A storm is coming in that is expected to be exceed thresholds to require evacuation. This means that we are in the “Ready” phase of the new evacuation timeline our staff has developed and been educating the public on.

If you, or anyone you know, lives under a burn area, specifically the areas highlighted in the updated debris risk map we unveiled before the winter began, please prepare your property for heavy rain. If we move to issue an evacuation warning tomorrow, it will only be those that live in the red portions of the map that will need to prepare to evacuate. However, everyone should stay mindful to ensure safety during this storm. And, as always, if you do not feel safe, regardless of where you live, please do whatever you need to so that you and your family feel safe.

Our staff will continue to monitor this storm closely and we will update all of you as soon as more information is available. Make sure you are signed up for our County’s Aware and Prepare program to get the best and most updated information as soon as it’s available. Please stay safe and let me know if there is anything you need.
