CAMARILLO — CSU Channel Islands (CSUCI) will begin accepting applications for its Fall 2025 semester beginning Oct. 1, 2024.

The priority application period closes on Dec. 2 and Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management Toni DeBoni recommends students submit applications early.

“CSUCI uses rolling admissions, which means that if a student applies earlier in the application process, they will hear about their admission decision, as well as scholarship eligibility much sooner than those who apply later,” DeBoni said.

CSUCI has formalized partnerships with several area school districts through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This agreement establishes a guaranteed admission program offering all qualified students from participating districts a direct path to CSUCI upon high school graduation. All A-G eligible high school seniors from school districts that have an MOU with CSUCI have already been provisionally admitted, pending their application for Fall 2025.

Currently, Oxnard Union High School District, Conejo Valley Unified School District, Simi Valley Unified School District, Oak Park Unified School District, Fillmore Unified School District, Santa Paula Unified School District, and Carpinteria Unified School District have an MOU with CSUCI. Moorpark Unified School District is scheduled to consider the agreement at an upcoming board meeting.

“We are also continuing our commitment to provide financial support for our students,” DeBoni said. “One opportunity is the Jeff T. Green Family Foundation, which is sponsoring 250 scholarships for first-time freshmen who are the first in their family to attend college. Each scholarship provides $20,000 spread over four years. These are available to students who join CSUCI right after high school and is available to students of all majors.”

For high-achieving students interested in studying business or economics, the Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics offers a scholarship of $7,000 per year for incoming high school and transfer students, as well as many other scholarship opportunities.

CSUCI is expanding its academic offerings with the introduction of a new undergraduate major in data science. This academic program is anticipated to be available for application before the priority application deadline of Dec. 2 and will provide students with a strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, computer science, and data visualization, enabling them to solve complex problems and make informed decisions with benefit of data-informed insights.

Nursing is one of the most popular academic programs at CSUCI. Transfer students can apply as a Nursing major and should designate an alternate major due to the limited number of Nursing slots available. First-time, first-year students interested in the Nursing program should select the Pre-Nursing track. Students can also pursue a B.S. in Health Science, which offers excellent preparation for a variety of health professions.

Potential students and their families can review these and CSUCI’s many other academic programs at:  www.csuci.edu/academics
