Carmen Ramirez:
Inclusivity
Carmen was the founding Board President of CAUSE and helped guide the organization to take on vital environmental justice work. Memorably she organized working-class families and immigrants to fight against BHP Billiton’s massive polluting LNG project, and won. Her other efforts included the cleanup of the Halaco toxic waste site, the restoration of the Ormond Beach wetlands, and the defeat of the Puente

power plant. She also fought for living wages, women’s economic justice, transportation access, farmworker rights, immigrant rights, and much more. We thank Carmen Ramirez for her service to our community and beyond. To learn more about CAUSE and to get involved, click here. |
