The Collection spreads holiday cheer with safe, festive experiences for the whole family

Shopping center hosts variety of virtual and in-person activities throughout the holiday season

OXNARD — This holiday season, The Collection at RiverPark has reimagined several of its annual holiday experiences to offer safe, festive fun for the whole family. From visits with Santa and virtual story time with Mrs. Claus and friends to live music, giveaways, scavenger hunts and more, there are plenty of opportunities to participate in the holiday cheer.

 

Photos With Santa

Date: Nov. 27 to Dec. 24

Time: Monday – Friday, 3-8 p.m.; Saturday, 12-8 p.m.; Sunday 12-7 p.m.; Dec. 24, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Location: Santa’s Workshop, 540 Town Center Drive

Event Description: Santa will once again be visiting The Collection to meet families and create special memories with keepsake photos. In an effort to keep Santa, his helpers and the community safe, several safety precautions will be taken, including requiring reservations.

Note: Reservations are required.

 

Santa Paws Pet Photo Nights

Date: Nov. 30, Dec. 7, Dec. 14, Dec. 21

Time: 5-8 p.m.

Location: Santa’s Workshop, 540 Town Center Drive

Event Description: Our four-legged friends are part of the family and are also welcome to meet Santa himself. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome anytime this holiday season to make a reservation and join Santa in his workshop for a memorable photo.

 

Virtual Santa Experience

Date: Nov. 27 to Dec. 23

Time: Monday – Friday, 1-2:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m.

Location: Virtual via Zoom technology

Event Description: For the first time ever, The Collection will be offering families the opportunity to host a Santa experience in the comfort of their home. Guests can have a virtual Santa experience for the kids to tell Santa their holiday wish list and what they have done to stay on Santa’s “nice” list.

 

Letters to Santa

Date: Nov. 16 to Dec. 17

Location: Next to The Annex Food Hall on Collection Blvd.

Event Description: The Collection will be hosting Santa’s Mailbox, sponsored by Ventura County Credit Union. The Collection will carefully deliver letters written to Santa to ensure they are mailed and received at the North Pole, where Santa and Mrs. Claus will reply to every letter that has a return address and is placed in Santa’s Mailbox by Dec. 17.

 

Story Time With Mrs. Claus

Date: Dec. 1, 8, 15, 22

Time: 6 p.m.

Location: Facebook

Event Description: The Collection will be offering virtual visits with Mrs. Claus and other beloved characters for story time, arts and crafts, and dance parties that families can enjoy at home. These visits will be hosted via The Collection’s Facebook page, @TheCollectionRP.

 

Spark of Love Toy Drive

Date: Every Wednesday, Nov. 4-25

Time: 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Location: In the north parking lot along HWY 101 across from The Container Store and 24 Hour Fitness Center

Event Description: In partnership with the Ventura County Fire Department, The Collection invites the community to join us throughout the holiday season to donate unwrapped toys to children in need in our community.

 

Holiday Scavenger Hunt

Date: Nov. 27 to Dec. 24

Location: Guests can pick up the list at Guest Services (lobby of 2751 Park View Court) or download it from TheCollectionRP.com.

Event Description: Guests will be given the opportunity to participate in a fun holiday scavenger hunt throughout the center, highlighting holiday decor, artwork installs and various areas of The Collection. Once guests have completed the scavenger hunt and checked all of the boxes, they are invited back to the Guest Services lobby to enter to win a fun holiday surprise!

 

Throughout the holiday season, shopping center visitors will have the opportunity to experience a variety of festive fun. The Collection’s team will be surprising guests at random by handing out gifts to enjoy this holiday season. In addition, local musicians will be strolling through the center and playing classic holiday songs and twists on popular tunes. For a fun way to connect virtually, The Collection will be launching its digital 12 Days of Holiday Cheer event. For the first 12 days of December, The Collection will be hosting giveaways on its Instagram page, @TheCollectionRP, to raffle off items such as gift cards for stores and dinner for two.
