Bilingual report: Protest to cuts in state childcare budget set for June 9 in Oxnard

The Latin America Child Care Provider Association, a nonprofit group of bilingual childcare providers, will provide information on cuts to the state’s childcare budget at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 9 at Del Sol Park at the corner of Camino del Sol and Rose Avenue in La Colonia neighborhood of Oxnard.

We decided to protest the cuts to the state budgets where more than 29,000 children from families with low economic resources will lose their rights to education at an early age, where children up to 5 years of age will most affected, the group stated in a media release. The governor proposes to adjust the budget and hurt those who should be more protected — children and the elderly.
